Going to Les Amis with the girls tonite

Weeee! I can't wait til tonite... I'm hungry, and I haven't been to Les Amis for awhile - hope I don't get disappointed! Girls nite out tonite we are gonna be so loud in such a formal dining place! HECK! Hehehehe

What should I wear? Hmm... I'm thinking of my new Alexander Wang dress, with my crystal Balmain sandals. Or... maybe my Erin Fetherson dress with my new nude Loubs??? Hmm...? I better get ready early since I always take forever to decide what to wear! Gonna take tons of pictures! Especially since Diah just got her new Balmain suede-buckle booties! Can't wait to see it in real life - so I can decide which boots to get!!! Yay!

Balmain Fall/Winter 09

Looking at Balmain's collection this season there are only 4 things I want! The studded skirt - which looks so chic even, with just a plain tee(photo courtesy of style.com):

I'm hoping to get the skirt... will find out how hehe. I want all 3 boots but too bad no winter here, so I'm definitely buying only one of the boots! Which one should I get? Hmmm? I'm leaning towards the booties just cos I can most probably still wear it out here in Singapore!

The everyone-wears-HL trend might have passed but I'm still loving it!

Sometime last year, EVERYONE was wearing Herve Leger. I mean EVERYONE - from teens to moms! I loved it too, but it was so popular that whenever I wanted to wear one, I was scared that I would bump into someone wearing the same dress as ME! Worse or better looking than me don't matter!!! Bumping into someone in the same dress is just my biggest nightmare!!!

Now the trend has somehow slowed down...I think it got killed by Balmain's Spring 09 collection. People were no longer ooh-ahh-ing at someone wearing HL anymore! Now they ogle at those who are daring(and RICH) enough to wear any of the collections. People were so desperate to wear the collections that designers have created Balmain's look-a-likes military jackets, crystal studded sandals, and motorcycle tie-dyed jeans! (NOTE: Zara studded sandals, J brand's tie-dye jeans, etc etc!)

As for me? I still love Herve Leger! I love how their dresses make everyone look curvaceous and sexy! The designs have now been updated as well! Their current Fall 09 collection has a Balmain touch to it - the metallic colors, the broad shoulder jackets and dresses, and instead of using one color, they use patterns to make the dresses look even prettier! I'm TOTALLY loving the jackets, trench coats, vests, white shirts!, EVERYTHING! So chic! I am so getting them! I have to get the mesh dress and motorcycle jacket! Can't wait til it's out on Shopbop!!!

If I were to pick a favorite season I would choose Spring/Summer without any hesitation. Why? Cos I love colors! They are always so bright, so happy - and that's exactly me! But I don't hate Fall/Winter! I still love wearing my boots and jackets every year! Being a shopaholic, I can never resist buying jackets/coats, and boots every year - even though I know very well I would be able to only wear for a 2-3 weeks Christmas vacation every year!

Can't really see the collection yet, but it seems very boy-ish - what I am trying to experiment with! My stil has always been the girly-girl - dresses and skirts. But now, I am trying to come out of my comfort zone, and so I have been experimenting with vests, blazers, boyfriend shirts, etc. and mixing them with my girly clothings. I'm loving the "effect"! I look different! I look more fashionable - more daring! Hehehe... but definitely still can't pull off the boyfriend jeans although I would love to since it's so baggy and comfortable! Anyways time to sleep! XOXO

Fall/Winter 09 Contemporary Designers - Alexander Wang

I love contemporary brands - they are pretty, well made, look expensive, and yet affordable! My favorite brands are Alexander Wang, Elizabeth & James, and everything else on Shopbop hehehe. I used to love 3.1 Philip Lim, but recently I don't like anything from his collections! Plus it's getting ridiculously expensive! Meanwhile, Alexander Wang has never disappoint every season. I love how he plays around with drapes, mesh, and tights cut-outs for his latest collection. SO ME! He also makes fabulous jackets!!!

His more casual clothing always mixes in men's wear, such as boyfriend shirts, blazers, vests, etc. It gives a girly dress a make-over! His pre-fall 09 stuffs are really pretty too

But somehow, some of his Fall dresses really reminds me of Herve Leger! So apparently(thanx to my Gossip Girl spy-friend in NYC hehe) my friend saw Alexander Wang in Herve Leger "spying" on dresses before coming out with his own version of body-hugging dresses last season - remember his black, cerulean blue dress!?! So Herve Leger!! But then it didn't prevent me from buying it anyway! And I love it!
